Time to start making some banana bread…
Today I received a phone call at work from a woman inquiring if the zoo takes food donations for the animals. We don’t, and she was a bit disappointed – she has 90 (!) pounds of bananas to get rid of. Her brother filled her car with bananas as a practical joke, and she was hoping that the zoo could take them off of her hands.
I just got a call from the li’l woman, asking me if I could stop at the store on the way home. She needs me to pick up something she forgot on her trip there earlier today. Oddly enough, she forgot to get bananas…

You drive me ape, you big gorilla.
there was a note left at the desk that i found this morning - someone wants to donate a HORSE that is old and going blind to be used as food for the animals! yikes. i passed the note on to the appropriate person who will politely decline this generous offer.
there was also an old guy who barely spoke english in here on sunday wanting to donate "big box of food...for animals!" when i told him we couldn't accept it, he wasn't too happy.
my boss told me about a woman who came into the lobby once with bags of rotten apples that she had gathered. i've also heard about people bringing in their old jack-o-lanterns...
has it ever occurred to any of these people to donate money?
sounds like they just want to get rid of stuff and not feel guilty about throwing it away.
yeah, you're probably right - trying to turn being wasteful into a charitable act.
